Siemens Energy & Automation Inc., (Alpharetta, GA) introduced earlier this year a series of 3 online courses for its Simatic™ S7 programmable logic controllers.

The courses provide an online alternative to conventional training classes. All course and registration information is available at www.sea.siemens.com/sitrain/picpro.html. Siemens offers the Advanced course in July and the Expert course in October. The final exam requires attendance at a Siemens examination center. The course requires an analog modem sound card and CD-ROM drive. Students work independently though a tutor is available in the virtual classroom.
