The MR-C brushless servo system from Mitsubishi Electronics (Mt. Prospect, IL) was designed as an economic alternative to five-phase or microstepping drives.
It measures 3.56" L and 1.57" dia and offers the power of a motor twice its size says the company. The MR-C has a continuous range which allows maximum power at any speed as well as a peak range for added short-term surges of power.
