The Trine GLE (Glueless Lead Edge) roll labeling system from CMS Gilbreth (Trevose, PA) applies hot melt adhesive to only the trailing edge of a wraparound label, which overlaps the leading edge.

This results in up to 50% reduction in adhesive consumption says CMS. It's available as an option on new Trine hot melt labeling machines or can be retrofitted to existing equipment where full wraparound labels are being applied and a standard Mitsubishi PLC is used.
