Short-run flexo press

Soloflex® 8, a central impression flexographic printing press from Windmoeller & Hoelscher (Lincoln, RI), is designed to optimize short runs using materials up to 24.5" W.

Rather than conventional cylinders and rollers the press employs a cantilevered method of plate cylinder and anilox roll changeover. Quick-change sleeves speed make-ready. One operator can complete a full six- or eight-color make-ready in 30 to 40 minutes according to the company. Revised deck design improves support during printing and permits speeds up to 650 fpm.
