Tri-Shield(TM) from Tri-Seal Intl. (Blauvelt, NY) is a new seven-layer coextruded cap lining system made of foams or solids such as EVA or PP. The high-barrier material is suitable for caps on packaged products that need to retain carbon dioxide or keep oxygen from degrading them.
These include carbonated beverages juice wines hot-filled and ambient-filled food products plus health and personal-care items. Tri-Shield liners can increase the product's shelf life up to 20% says the company.
