A new state-of-the-art plant for Coca-Cola Bottling Company United in Baton Rouge, LA, includes four packaging lines that meet the needs of today while being flexible enough to accommodate future growth.
At this bottler of flavored or enhanced waters, sports drinks, fitness waters, teas, juices, and other New Age beverages, end-of-line operations include palletizing on a Krones palletizer and stretch wrapping on a Robopac machine.
At this bottler of flavored or enhanced waters, sports drinks, fitness waters, teas, juices, and other New Age beverages, bottles are efficiently collated, placed on trays, and shrink-wrapped on a Krones Variopack machine.
As a full pallet receives its top layer and exits, a fresh pallet is automatically moved into place. At the stretch wrapper, a top sheet of film is automatically dispensed. Stretch wrapping equipment is supplied by Krones.
Krones offers a Blow-Fill BLOC for filling PET bottles with non-carbonated water. PET bottles are produced in the Contiform S20 stretch blow molding machine and immediately filled by the VO-DM-PET filler and then capped, without a rinser or air conveyors.
Krones Modul System delivers maximum application flexibility via modular, interchangeable labeling stations. Working off its plug-and-label principle, the Modul labeler combines multiple labeling techniques such as cold-glue, pressure-sensitive, hot-melt roll-fed, and hot-melt pre-cut wraparound labels all on a single machine base.
PACK EXPO WEB EXCLUSIVE: Krones is introducing the Accutower dynamic buffering system at Pack Expo 2004 in its booth, S-2466. In the Accutower, containers move on a conveyor that is arranged in the shape of a vertical spiral, requiring significantly less space than traditional buffer systems. Accutower is easily configured into existing lines. Other advantages include: *Processing of unusually-shaped containers; container orientation remains the same. *Bottle never leaves transport chain. *Chain is run on only two drive motors, resulting in less maintenance and less energy consumption.
On this revamped bottling line for rum and rum products, glass bottles arrive in tab-lock reshippers stacked on pallets. The reshippers are elevated layer by layer and then swept off on a discharge conveyor leading to the filling line by the Krones depalletizer.
