Motion is created wherever there is energy. Wherever SEW-Eurodrive is, motion is created. Their product is motion. Decades of experience in drive engineering are the basis for this. SEW-Eurodrive’s origin is that of one of the major family enterprises of the world. When they say “We can do it,” it means “We will do it”. This is what customers can count on all over the world.
As a world leader in drive technology and a pioneer in drive-based automation, SEW-Eurodrive has established a reputation for quickly solving the most difficult power transmission and motion control challenges across a variety of industries in the world today.
SEW-Eurodrive introduced the gearmotor in 1931 and in the 80 plus years since then, they have continued to bring the best in drive technology to their customers. That commitment has led to a history of innovations — the first variable speed gearmotor, early development of electronic drives, some of the first successful efforts to decentralize control, and the first motor with energy-efficient copper rotors.
Exceptional solutions have made SEW-Eurodrive the standard for drive performance and reliability in the United States since they first began here in the early 1970s. Enthusiastic customer response to SEW-Eurodrive’s variable speed gearmotors led them to open their first assembly center in Troy, Ohio, in 1975. Within a few short years, SEW-Eurodrive was operating four additional facilities across the U.S. — in Bridgeport, New Jersey; Dallas, Texas; Hayward, California, and Lyman, South Carolina. In the U.S. today, SEW-Eurodrive provides expert application assistance and products from their multiple Drive Technology Centers, more than 60 technical sales offices, and a nationwide distributor network.
SEW-Eurodrive offers the broadest product line in the industry — from gearmotors and heavy industrial gear units to electronic drives, software, and complete drive-based automation systems. Their products are based on a unique system of modular components that can be assembled in literally millions of different configurations. Every drive solution is custom built to the customer's exact specifications. SEW-Eurodrive’s regional assembly centers each stock millions of dollars’ worth of modular component inventory for quick delivery of drive solutions and spare parts anywhere in the U.S.
CUSTOM SOLUTIONS TO CUSTOMER SPECIFICATIONS
If you want to be successful you have to know the tasks and processes of your customers and industries. SEW-Eurodrive looks beyond the borders of drive engineering to find the solution perfect for each customer. With an oftentimes unconventional way of viewing and approaching things, SEW-Eurodrive has been setting the trends and standards in drive engineering for years. In this way, "engineered and made by SEW-Eurodrive" has become a seal of quality in the world of drive engineering.
