What is Centerlining?
Centerlining is a methodology used to reduce product and process variability and increase machine efficiency by determining optimal machine operating setpoints. Kliklok-Woodman is designing machines from the ground up with centerlining capabilities to help customers achieve predictable and consistent performance. Setpoints are clearly marked to establish optimal machine settings for quicker changeovers, less downtime and reduced waste.
While we have always designed efficiency and consistent performance into our machines, the Enterprise horizontal endload cartoner is our first packaging machine truly designed to be centerlined for every variable.
The Enterprise's modular design allows multiple infeed options, including adjustable article buckets and an overhead confiner for bag-in-box applications. The standard stainless-steel IP-65-rated Enterprise features Kliklok’s patented servo-profiled rotary carton feeder (the fastest in the industry), a smooth-motion barrel-cam inserter and KW's Insight HMI.
KW’s Insight is a key element in the centerlining capabilities of the Enterprise and many of our other packaging machines. The icon-based color touch screen is multi-lingual, intuitive and self-tutoring, and automatic programming ensures consistent performance regardless of shift or operator skill.
The Enterprise is only one of KW's innovations in packaging. Our Vantage Multi-Bag Baler is making waves in the snack food industry with the BalePack, a new presentation for snack food packaging and merchandising: multiple bags of snack foods and other low-density products in a single high-density bundle.
The BalePack improves shelf presentation and display density and is ideal for traditional single-serve, 100-calorie snacks and variety packs.
