Plastipak Packaging (Plymouth, MI) has introduced a new TE neck finish on its range of injection stretch/blow-molded hot-fillable PET bottles. When the plastic closure is twisted off and the TE band breaks away from it, the dimensions of the bottle finish permit the band to drop down significantly lower (left) than on industry-standard bottles (right).

The 48-mm Plasti-Twist® Plus closure from White Cap (Downers Grove, IL) offers tamper evidence through a patented drop-down band. The closure is available with the E-Z Torque liner, a non-PVC thermoplastic elastomer liner that is molded into the cap.
A two-layer lid for single-serve food, dairy or cosmetics products is available from Label Makers (Pleasant Prairie, WI). The bottom layer is designed to be heat-sealed to the container, which can be constructed of PS or PP.
The Tri-Gard® Separating cap liner from Tri-Seal (Blauvelt, NY) lets packagers accomplish two goals at once. The multi-layered liner, already inside the cap when supplied to the packaging line, is induction sealed to a plastic bottle to provide a secure seal and tamper evidence.
Suitable for tablets or powders, Waddington IP Jaycare (Carlstadt, NJ) has introduced the HingeGard® closure. Injection-molded in LDPE, the closures are hinged snap-caps that provide tamper evidence with tear bands.
