Resins OK'd for fatty food packaging

In June the Food and Drug Administration approved Exxon Chemical's (Houston, TX) Oppera® modified polypropylene film resins for use in direct contact with fatty foods such as salty snacks, processed meats and cheeses, and confectionery items.

Exxon Chemical (Houston, TX) announced that its new modified PP film resins have been approved for use in direct contact with fatty food. Previously known as HP3, OPPERA® resins are for use in oriented, cast and shrink film monolayer and multilayer constructions.

Omron Electronics (Schaumburg, IL) has unveiled a new 8-page brochure: "Solutions for Food & Beverage Packaging, Food Processing and Flexible Packaging." Chernin's uses labels of another color

Color on-demand labeling does not necessarily have to mean dedicated color printing hardware or costly color ribbon media. Chicago-based shoe retailer Chernin's Shoes has been producing color thermal labels since January with nothing more than a standard direct-thermal label printer.
