Reynolds Metals (Richmond, VA) has developed an aluminum beverage can with a rounded neck and smoother lines that allow beverage marketers to further differentiate their product and maximize billboard space.
Industrial Pallet and Packaging (Beachwood, OH) has developed a low-cost HDPE pallet that weighs only 15 lb yet can support a 2000-lb dynamic load. An open framework design reduces weight and allows for easy cleaning, while drain openings in the feet facilitate drying.

Fire-retardant versions of plastic pallet containers are now available from Perstorp Xytec (Tacoma, WA). Structural-foam-molded of fire-resistant HDPE thermoplastic supplied by Specialty Polymers Corp., they have been approved as a Class II or noncombustible product by the Factory Mutual Research Corp.
