Pumped up sampler
In a unique approach to fragrance sampler packaging, New York-based Donna Karan incorporated a miniature spray pump on vials of DK Men cologne. The sampler consists of a polypropylene spray pump that snaps onto a 1.8-mL PP vial.
By
Risdon (Naugatuck CT) supplies both the pump and the vial. A frosted label is gravure-printed in two colors and heat-transferred to the black cylinder. A paperboard card holds the vial. It's made of a 120# test cover stock and is offset-printed. Donna Karan won't disclose suppliers of either the board or labels. Graphics were created in-house. Introduced in November of 1994 these .03-oz samplers can be found behind cosmetics counters of major department stores throughout the country.
