Printing system variety

Greydon will demonstrate new inline printers and a new offline printer for medical device, pharmaceutical, and food applications, as well as a fast taped bag loader for meat and cheese applications.

Capable of printing as many as 4 colors on either side of a substrate, the offline system consists of an unwind/rewind unit complete with corona treater, drier, flexo presses, and thermal printer. The new S-107 HS direct thermal-transfer printer (shown) incorporates a preheat mechanism to operate at speeds to 500 mm/sec, printing variable data such as lot number, date code, or scannable bar codes. Suitable for applications where high-quality printing is needed and changeovers are frequent.

The new Micromax/IJ flexo printing system with traversing ink-jet cartridge for inline printing in 600 dpi and as many as 4 colors offers the advantages of rotary flexo printing for nonvariable information with the flexibility of ink-jet printing variable information. The redesigned servo-driven Black Max II rotary flexo printer offers high print quality for graphics or bar codes on 4”- to 100”-W webs.
