Bona introduces floor-care systems in reusable tote
Unique package design aligns with company’s commitment to sustainable floor care.
Bona US, the North American subsidiary of Bona AB in Sweden and a provider of products for hardwood floor finishing, home cleaning, and floor care, has launched its premium Hardwood Floor Care System and its Stone, Tile & Laminate Floor Care System in reusable shopping totes, eliminating the typical throwaway outer box. The new packaging will keep 50 tons of total packaging out of landfills in 2010 alone, the company says. In addition, each reusable tote is made from recycled PET, keeping 11 plastic water bottles per bag from entering the waste stream. Bona's guilt-free packaging provides consumers with a professional-quality, daily home cleaning solution in a progressive and reusable package. Each Bona System includes a professional, nontoxic, biodegradable cleaner; reusable and washable microfiber dry dust and cleaning pads; a four-piece Bona mop and base; and a concentrated floor cleaner refill."For 90 years Bona has innovated durable, premium and sustainable professional products. Our new packaging with the Bona System is another example of our commitment to Bona's corporate values," says Gerald Thompson, Bona's director of Technology and Innovation and resident wood chemist. "The reusable bag, in tandem with our nontoxic cleaning solution, joins the Bona family of products that not only clean effectively and protect floors, but also care for your family and the environment." Bona's floor care products are Greenguard®-certified for indoor air quality as well as Greenguard's more stringent Children and Schools Program. Bona says it is the first in its industry to carry a full system of hardwood floor finishing and floor-care cleaning products certified for indoor air quality. The systems are available at Bed Bath & Beyond.
